La Leyenda?

Is this the La Leyenda? I am hoping so. This is the boat Troy and I have found in California. This steel hull vessel is a 42 ft. Schooner and it is all we have been obsessing over lately. In fact, we had to distract ourselves with other interest. Troy just got a new skateboard and the weather is starting to melt things hear in Anchorage. Soon we will be looking for cement waves to surf and rivers to packraft! Hopefully this junk is available in a few months...

This is probably the coolest wine holder I have ever seen

Just sayin.

Route Time

This picture is from the weekend. Troy and I met up and discussed route options. Troy has been doing research on distances and times, cost, etc. Seeing the route drawn out on a map makes me excited and eager. The possibilities are endless. Hopefully have a route ironed out soon and we can post specific details! I think patience is going to be beneficial through this whole process.

Sloop or Cutter?

What do you guys think, a sloop or cutter for circumnavigation? Troy and I have this talk all the time. We know both have their benefits and drawbacks and we understand there are boat designers and manufactures out there that have made very suitable options on both sides. But I wonder... what will La Leyenda be? Sloop or cutter? Oh yeah, and my mom drew these sweet pics for me today. Thanks mom!

La Leyenda

Hi we are posting this as our first blog post and I guess this is as good as anytime to start keeping people who are interested about our progress informed on the adventure as it unfolds. We titled this "The Start", but it really is just a formality. You see, there never really was a start. Troy and I have always wanted to do outstanding things. Pilot's license, big mountains, fast  rivers and long treks through vast expanses of land have brought us to this time in our lives. Many nights with a beer in our hand and a exciting story being told have kindled our drive for what we are planning. This blog was created to keep friends, family, fellow adventurers, and folks who are enthusiastic and interested to read about all aspects of our journey engaged. It would not be accurate to call this the start of everything we have worked towards in regards to our logistics and training, but this is the start of the blog about La Leyenda and her crew as they prepare and set sail on a voyage around the world!
